FOR ATTORNEYS

For Attorneys Who Recognize the Settlement Is Just the Beginning

When your client reaches a settlement, the legal work is done — but their financial future is just beginning. At AFG Survivor Planning, we work alongside plaintiff attorneys to help clients navigate what comes next: protecting their benefits, and building a plan that reflects the full complexity of their situation.

We are not a general financial planning firm. This is all we do.

What We Help Your Clients With

We work with survivors across a range of settlement types, including:

  • Special needs and pooled trusts — preserving government benefit eligibility for clients with disabilities
  • Minor plaintiff planning — court-compliant financial plans that protect settlement funds until adulthood
  • Large and complex settlements — coordinated planning for catastrophic injury, verdict, and punitive damage cases - including federal estate tax considerations

Whatever the case type, we start with the client's life — their care needs, their family, their goals — and build the plan from there.

How We Work With Attorneys

We are most useful when brought in early. Once a case is approaching resolution, we can:

  • Consult with you on settlement structure options before demand is finalized
  • Prepare analysis to support settlement negotiations, including life care plan review and present value work
  • Meet directly with your client (at your direction) to explain options and answer questions
  • Handle all post-settlement planning coordination, so your client has a dedicated point of contact after the file closes

There is no direct cost to your client or your firm for AFG services. Our goal is to honor the trust your clients placed in you.

Why Attorneys Refer to AFG

  • 25+ years working exclusively with personal injury survivors and the attorneys who represent them
  • National practice — we work with clients and law firms across the country
  • Customized — our recommendations are built around what's right for each client
  • Accessible and direct — your clients get a real person, not a process

A Note on Confidentiality

We understand that referrals are a reflection of your reputation. We treat every client interaction with the same discretion and care we'd want for our own families. If a matter isn't the right fit for us, we'll tell you that directly rather than take on a case we can't serve well.
